Meta-owned WhatsApp is back testing profile icons in Group Chats

WhatsApp has been making a lot of changes recently to improve user experience and outweigh the competitors and this is their most recent experiment.

WABetaInfo the WhatsApp activity whistle-blower has recently revealed that the tech giant has retuned experimenting with profile icon feature for Android beta users, making it easy for members within group chats to distinguish each person.

However, WABetaInfo now reports that profile icons testing for group chats. For a some beta testers, testing has started up again with beta version 2.23.12.7 of the app available on the Google Play Store. In the upcoming weeks, a bigger beta rollout is anticipated by WABetaInfo.

Recently we have seen WhatsApp experimenting with the screensharing feature inspired by other big tech giants like Microsoft, Zoom, Google. This is their newest project to test.

Due to high competition WhatsApp has constantly received requests and demand from people to add in new features like the other competitors and WhatsApp itself has noticed the increased competition in the market.
